HUMAN STEM CELLS

What are human stem cells?

Human Stem Cells are undifferentiated cells with a self-renewal capacity, responsible for regenerating tissues, organs and cells existing in multicellular organisms through a mechanism known as differentiation.

Where are they obtained from?

They can be obtained from different tissues, some of the most studied are:

Endometrial tissue

Placenta

Adipose tissue

Bone marrow

Properties of stem cells

Regeneration

  1. Promote the formation of new blood vessels.
  2. Activate the growth and reproduction of the cells of each tissue.
  3. Prevent cell death

Immunomodulation

  1. Regulate inflammation.
  2. Increase the potential of the immune system.
  3. Help in auto-immune diseases

Regeneration

  1. They do not cause rejection.
  2. No allergic reaction.
  3. Any person can receive them

What is human stem cell therapy?

Cell therapy is a multidisciplinary medical branch in which several areas of biology converge. It is based in the application of mesenchymal stem cells to improve the regeneration, maintenance and repair processes of our tissues. The histocompatibility properties of cell therapy make it a safe therapy since, by not showing these complexes, our immune system does not generate any type of rejection.

There are multiple ways to apply these type of treatments: intra-arterial, intrathecal, intralesional and intravenous, the intravenous being the most common one since it only takes from 5 to 30 minutes to perform in the comfort of a clinic or office, being completely ambulatory. However, the cell dose and the number of applications will depend on the type of disease and the patient’s progress in the treatment.

Human Stem Cells have a regenerative capacity with a high rate of success in restoring the functionality of tissues and organs, however, the degree of regeneration and improvement will depend on each patient; in some patients, an improvement in the symptomatology ranging from 30% to 90% has been reported.

Quality Control

Donor selection

The donor must pass through various filters that are strictly supervised to ensure the quality of the tissue.

Cellular quality control

A series of studies are carried out by specialized and authorized third-party laboratories.

The cells

During the growth process, they are kept under strict surveillance and care to ensure the safety of the cells.

Quality certificates

Our CryoVida quality certificate includes the information of the cell batch from which the cells contained in the vial were extracted and the tests that were carried out before their storage.
